Waiting in Thailand

We've been in Chiang Mai, Thailand for almost two weeks now waiting for baby #3, essentially on vacation. We've been trying to be good about taking pics, but when you're in lazy vacation mode, it's easy to forget to take the camera out with you. Anyway, the first week wasn't so lazy, as we had to apply for new Canadian passports for Anita, Callie, & Zane. That was a bit crazy trying to get our pictures taken according to the strict Canadian standards and getting all our paperwork together for those, which took about our first four days here. Since we got that done, we've done a lot of things just for play. Here are a few pics below to share from this time so far.

Callie & Zane riding in a van - notice C's arm around Z, and that was without any prompting! Either this or a red pick-up truck with bench seats in the truckbed with a roof on top, are our two main modes of transportation. And no, they don't provide child safety seats!

The ball pit has been a staple of kid fun, both in our city where we normally live, and here in Chiang Mai. Less than a dollar a visit.

Both borrowed, Anita managed to locate matching clothes for her and her boy! Don't tell him it's not cool to match your mom. He'll figure that out one day, but it's pretty cute for now though.

With the place we're staying (called The Juniper Tree) being a retreat center of sorts, there aren't a lot of luxuries. One of those luxuries we miss is that of a bathtub. They were kind enough however to provide these baby baths for the kids. We just put them in the shower side by side and bathe them like this. When baby #3 comes along, we'll probably just bathe him in the sink.

Callie & Zane sure have been enjoying the pool. Callie can be timid at times, just like her parents were at her age. Zane just goes with the flow for the most part.

Yesterday we hit up the local bowling alley, which had bumpers for the children. We actually went with two other couples that we've met since being here who are in Chiang Mai for the same reason as us, to have a baby. It's crazy, but maybe that bowling got something moving b/c one of the other moms with us went into labor last night after the bowling and had her baby 2 weeks early! Nothing like that happened for Anita though. Whew...

Last but not least, here is a pic of Anita from yesterday, about 8.5 months exactly. We'll do our best to continue to keep you updated.

Cruising, a Getaway, & a Golden Retriever

The past couple of months have been quite busy. In early May Anita had to make a one week trip back to the States to handle some red tape. Then, once she was back the two of us took a weekend getaway (without the kids) to Hong Kong to enjoy some good shopping and good food, and most importantly, good quality time together just the two of us. After that, we finished up the semester and are currently preparing to head to Thailand to await the birth of our newest little boy, due July 17. We head out on Monday June 14 and will have a lot of paperwork and such to get done while there, but it still will count as our vacation, so we plan on having some fun and enjoying the western amenities of Chiang Mai. Anyway, here are some pics from the past 7 weeks or so for you to enjoy.

In mid-April Zane started to pull up on things and 'cruise', which is just a fancy word for walking while holding onto something.

Yes, Zane does weigh almost as much as Callie these days but not quite. Mommy or Daddy still have to push him down a little bit on the see-saw.

While Anita was in the States, Jeremy was awful about taking pictures. The only pics he took were some nicely g-rated ones of C&Z in the bath.

The above two pictures are of us in Hong Kong. The first one is just on a bridge near the waterfront. The lower one is of us on the Star Ferry which goes across the harbor for a whopping price of 3 HKD (45 cents) per person to ride.

Tickle/snuggle time has become a favorite at our house these days. Above is a pic, and below a video to help you get a taste for what it's like.

We truly think this picture is adorable. Callie has a ladybug raincoat, as you can see. After 10 months of drought in our province, the rain finally came last week. Notice by the time we take this picture it's already dried and the sun has come out. That's what it's like where we live. A new favorite word that Callie has added to her ever-expanding vocabulary is "puddle", which she cannot resist jumping in whenever she sees one.

The final picture we want to show you is of Callie with one of her new friends. There is a dog that goes by the name Mary (Mali in the local language), and Callie just adored her when she was out the other day.

To finish, we'll just share a cute video of Callie & Zane playing at the dinner table together. What will we do when there are three of them?!
