Easter Egg Hunts & Rocking Horses

We're a little late with this post, but we've finally gotten around to it. Easter was a fun day for the kids. In the morning we worshiped with some friends and then had an Easter egg hunt for the children, which was followed by a potluck lunch. After the kids' naps that afternoon we had another Easter egg hunt with some other friends as well as a potluck dinner. So, lots of hunting and eating went on that day. Below are some pics and videos from that time. Enjoy!

You may have noticed most of these pics were of a certain little girl in a pretty Easter dress who happens to be able to walk on her own and was therefore much more the subject of Easter photography. So in order not to leave the little guy out, here is a pic of him on his rocking horse along with a couple cute videos of him on it as well. Other recent Zane developments are he's been pulling up on furniture and standing, likes to hold his toy cell phone up to his ear (well actually more toward the back of his head) and ride the neighborhood see-saw (with some assistance - he and Callie are almost the same weight!), and he's finally learned how to wave. He now has 6 teeth (4 on top, 2 on bottom, all in the front) and he's learning to mimic sounds such as "uh-oh" when he drops food from his high chair, and "da-da" (Daddy).

Zane's First Haircut, Chopsticks, and Other Stuff

Lately Callie has gotten really interested in using chopsticks. As a result, of course, Zane had to get interested too. Callie has a kid-friendly pair which is joined at the top so she can just use them like pincers, but since even that is a bit too advanced for Zane we just let him play with a regular pair of chopsticks - he insisted on having them. Here is a cute pic of him playing with them. Then there's a pic of Callie holding her kid chopsticks, as well as a video of Zane playing with chopsticks.

Callie, being a girl, has not needed a haircut yet. Her hair is just getting to the point where it looks long and can be put into cute pigtails. Every time Anita puts Callie's hair up, she immediately asks to "Look, mirror!" (look in the mirror). Zane, however, being a boy, really has been needing a haircut lately, so yesterday Anita took him to our friend's house where she gave Zane his first haircut and showed Anita how to cut kids' hair. Here are before and after pics, as well as a video of him getting his new 'do.

Other fun things of late are that Zane has 6 teeth now, has (finally!) started to pull up and stand (holding onto something), and has learned how to ride the rocking horse. Here's a pic of our little buckaroo.

Callie is playing it cool with her shades.

This below picture is from bedtime one night. Jeremy was just holding both kids, and they looked so adorable that Anita couldn't resist snapping a picture.

Lastly, here is a video of Jeremy tickling Callie & Zane to their utter delight. Wonder what it will be like when there are 3 of them to pin down and tickle!
